Oh yeah, so why did I start it? Honestly I started out of boredom. I was sitting on my bed one day and just wanted to see what I could actually build as my first web project, being VERRRY aware projects like these already exist.

As a creator, and just in general, a consumer, I despise shitty complicated UI’s. That’s one of the main reasons why I quit using social platforms like Facebook, because simply trying to deactivate the app was like a rat trying to navigate a complex maze who was looking for an exit, when all I wanted to do was exit stage left on the app. Got on my fucking nerves….

I wanted to create something that was simple, clean, and intuitive—a perfect way to test my skills on my first real web project… or rather learning “on the job,” while I asked AI to code it lol.

Beyond the technical challenge, I’m a huge fan of memes and iconic sound effects. They’ve been a staple in SOME of the videos I create for social media (that barely anybody watches which is why content creation is more of a supplemental nightmare job), adding that extra layer of humor and personality to my content. I realized it would be incredibly fun to bring those sounds together into a dedicated, interactive experience. That’s how the idea for this soundboard was born—a place to keep those moments organized and easily accessible… (and also cause I wanted something I created out there on the internet that wasn’t the 1000th TikTok dancing video or AI slop video that somebody created in 5 seconds while they were sitting on the toilet…)

This project has been a great way to bridge my love for creating stuff, while not thinking everything has to be video on social media. I absolutely LOVE when websites or designers update their UI’s and the design looks amazing (like the recent Threads update with the logo thingy, it looks so cool), and I’ve loved doing that myself with this project, just seeing my ideas in my head being translated on the screen, without having to take 10 hours figuring out how to animate an emoji or creating a slideshow. (No seriously. I once asked my AI helper to simply animate a wave hello emoji when someone visits my about me page…and it did it! 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have been able to do that on my own without having to learn CSS or JavaScript).

And also, Disney, Nickelodeon, or any other company who happens across my website, please do not sue me. I’m not monetizing any of your sound-effects, but other people sure as hell are, (I was literally forced to watch an ad on a 3s SpongeBob sound effect video. -_-), so sue them, not me. Just ask your lawyers to ask me to take down whatever you want and I will).

Anyways, thanks for reading! Check out the rest of my stuff if you’d like. Peace.
